I’m starting to get upset when people talk to me about Deadpool. At first I was like “YOU KNOW ABOUT DEADPOOL?! AWESOME”. But now, with all this overexposure I don’t really know what to think. I’m like “You know Deadpool? Do you have any comics?” and most go “Uhhh, no, but I love his character”.

That’s nice, since he totally deserves the spotlight, but at the same time it frustrates me, ya know? Older fans have a tougher time connecting, I find.

I get judged a lot, too. People automatically assume that since I’m younger, I’m in the newer demographic of Deadpool fans. This isn’t the case, guys. Sure, I’m relatively new. But not THAT new. I’m certainly pre-movie version. I’ve been a ‘Pool fan for what, about two years? I just wasn’t as avid as I am now.

Most of us go through phases of favourite characters, and Deadpool wasn’t mine until a while ago. Which, of course, I regret now. I just feel terrible when I’m on sites like the Deadpool Bugle, or chatting it up with ItsJustSomeRandomGuy, and some idiot starts bashing me. We all used to be so close, this community and I.
